Start / Network Connections / My Isp / Properties / Security /

I can absolutely testify that the xp built-in firewall
(icf) will definitely protect you from the Dangerous
Internet (tm) while you download the patches.
When I helped my father install winxp pro, I turned on the icf
(internet connection firewall) before connecting to the
internet to get the patches (and mozilla).
On a 56k dialup connection, it took 3 hours to get the
patches.
no reboots, no viruses, no porn searchbars
Since it takes blaster about one minute to infect,
I'd say that the ICF worked. Also, if you enable
the icf and go to http://www.grc.com/ to portscan
yourself, you'll get a trustealth rating.
icf = free, built-in, and pretty darn good
P.S.
I keep posting my addy to usenet, so where the heck is swen?
