Greetings --

As long as the computer user has been practicing "safe hex,"
he/she has a whole lot less to worry about. The patch that fixed the
vulnerability that Sasser attacks was released to the public about two
weeks ago. (Which is how the malefactors learned of the vulnerability
in the first place. They then designed their worm to take advantage
of the gap, knowing full well that an awful lot of people hadn't
learned a thing after Blaster swept the Internet last year.) Also, a
properly configured firewall will prevent infection by Sasser, even if
the machine is unpatched.
