835732 does cause problems with some Windows 2000 Pro systems. Check out the
microsoft.public.win2000.windows_update newsgroup for their troubles and
this link with some fixes:

This isn't a complete fix and doesn't address the problems I've had with my
W2k systems (no internet access or troubles with retrieving email).
