Security Update for Windows XP (KB835732)

Hi, I recently had a bit of a problem (okay, a really
nasty problem actually) which necessitated me installing
the KB835732 security patch on my computer. Unfortunately,
every time I try to run the exe, it unpacks and promptly
tells me that it can't verify the Update.inf file,
suggests that I do something or other with the
Cryptography service, and refuses to install.

I can't get onine, incidentally, since the network admin
won't let me back on until I've patched my system. (I'm on
someone else's computer right now). Does anyone know what
I'm supposed to do about this? Is there some way to have
the patch skip the verification step, perhaps?
