I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 and using the free version of AVG.
The resident shield says I have a dll file in the folder c:\system
volume information infected with dowloader.comet.B and that I should
run AVG to remove it.
But when I run AVG, either on the whole drive or even customized to
only that folder, it finds nothing.
I have searched the AVG virus database but can't find anything, and
not at Symantec. I have google searched the internet for information
but can only find some reference to a cleaner at www.comet.com, which
I tried with no success.
One other thing is that I cannot get into the directory in question,
even though I am the administrator.
Does anyone have any insights into this?
Thanks ...Paul
