HOW TO: Install Backup from the CD-ROM in Windows XP Home Edition
If your computer came with only a "system recovery" CD instead of a full Windows
CD, finding Ntbackup.msi is not as easy. Look on the CD that was given to you
and on any additional hard disk partitions set up on your computer. Some
manufacturers provide the Windows files more or less intact, whereas others
embed them in compressed disk image files. (Compaq systems with Windows XP Home
Edition pre-installed, for example, have Windows files stored within Drive Image
files on drive D.) If you happen to have the disk imaging program that was used
to create the disk image files, you can extract the Windows files you need.
Backup/Restore
Note: ASR is not supported on home edition.
