I think there were concerns that the one would find and "fix" material
in the other's quarantine, breaking the other's ability to restore.

I don't think so - Kolla seems dedicated to the freeware thing,
meaning he has nil to gain by dissing the "competition". When he's
dissed other anti-cm apps, it's been because they basically wrote
engines that use his signature data without his permission!
