As long as you have the Norton Internet Security enabled you should have
no worries. You should see the norton globe with the arrow and the red
circle with the white cross. I would actual exit the software because
keep connection alive can restart by itself.

There are many other maintaining connection softwares available on the
net.

After getting todays update from Norton and in some hope of them
finding the resolution for this, I turned on keep connection alive only
to be confronted with the Welchia_ICMP_Scan message.

So my conclusion is that this undoubtedly caused by norton and the keep
connection alive.

Since Norton are obviously ignoring it's users perhaps we all should
put norton's web site in out favourites, remove our other favourites,
and follow norton's earlier instructions. When their server starts
falling over, they might decide to listen.

Failing that just disable keep connection alive and hope norton
resolves this quickly.
