Can you believe the cable company did a repair on the main cable last
night and I've been blaming them all day until I found this thread!!!

Sometime today I did a live update with Norton and the problem with
Welchia alerts every few seconds stopped. After reading the thread, I
checked and sure enough, the "Keep Connection Alive" was disabled. So,
playing devil's advocate, I 'enabled' it and IMMEDIATELY had a new
Welchia alert. So, I disabled it again and the alerts stopped.
However, I now have a new icon in my system tray -- the green/blue
Norton 'globe' with a red circle with white x in it that was not there
before. The regular Norton 2003 Security Pro icon is there as well.

Thanks for clearing up this awful mystery.
