Adware Programs

    I'm not sure whether this is the correct forum for this,
    but here goes.

    My antivirus program (from Symantec) identifies 8 or 10
    programs as adware. When I click Delete, only one of them
    is actually deleted. When I search from Windows Explorer,
    none of the adware programs is found on the hard drive.
    Why are they not detectable using the Search utility? So,
    how can I delete them manually?
