If an email is received stating
"..The virus isn't detected by McAfee or Norton and it remains in the folder for 14 days
before activating and harming the system. It can be erased before it eliminates the files in
your computer. To do so, follow these steps:..." And proceeds to provide deletion
information then it is a HOAX.

The OP did in fact state "..My wife got an e mail from a friend that says its a virus that
McAfee and Norton don't detect, with simple instructions to delete it from its current
folder and Recycle Bin." Therefore the post indicates it is the HOAX and not the "Recory"
(Jdbgmgr) Worm.

"The Recory worm primarily travels in file sharing programs such as IRC, Kazaa, and
Morpheous. The message that comes with it looks a lot like the hoax message but tells you
exactly the wrong thing to do. Descriptions of the worm are available at antivirus
websites..."

That's why I include the CIAC HOAX Busters URL;
http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/HBMalCode.shtml#jdbgmgr
Which has complete information.

| Jbgmgr is a virus
| Jbgmrg has been used by viruses in the past.
|
| In short, do not dismiss out of hand.
