Ok, this is how it happened. I was downloading a file from
internet and when opened the file didn't do anything. So I
said that's a virus. I run an antivirus program and finds
a DLL file infected, so I get rid of it.
Since then when I start the computer on the CTRL-ALT-DEL
box appears something called SVCHOST.EXE. The computer
slows down a lot so I think I still have the virus.
I made some searches on internet and this is what I have
learnt: SVCHOST is an actual file for windows NT and above
(but I have windows 98). SVCHOST.EXE is supposed to be an
actual file in the windows system, but I looked for them
and I didn't find either SVCHOST or SCVHOST (which I
learnt is the actual Virus). I read online how to get rid
of it through the regedit, but in the registry there is
nothing with those names.
So how is it possible that I have a windows NT+ file
running on my computer (that till a week ago I didn't have)
and there is no actuale EXE file nowhere??
How do I get rid of this annoying worm?
Thanx in advance.
