What exact name did NAV give the virus? What operating system do you use?
I'd guess Windows 98SE or earlier because Windows 2000 with NTFS is immune
to boot sector viruses. You will need your installation CD or emergency
disk to rebuild the boot sector; the Symantec website should have
directions. At any rate, from now on, have NAV set to scan drive A
automatically, write protect the boot sector of hard drives, and consider
using an operating system with NTFS, and scanning all the floppies you have
on hand (even floppies you think are unused) for viral infection.
