Download the free version of spybot then scan your computer. It
will not cost you anything.

| I just finished reading and taking notes on all that
| responded to Mizme about his popup problem. I went to
| spybot and did the free scan and it showed that I have 2
| spyware and 2 adware on my computed. Now they are wanting
| $39.95 to unlock the spyware. I thought it was FREE!!!! I
| quess the ole adadge nothing of any importance is free.
| With all the sites that I copied down, do any offer a free
| spyware?
|
| Just this morning as I turned on the computer, I had an ad
| to popup from Microsoft Internet Explorer, I think,
| stating that I had spyware on my computer and to download
| their free spyware. Well, I didn't because I was not sure
| if it truly was from Microsoft.
|
| What I do not understand is that I have Norton Antivirus
| running as well as System Suite, Ghost Surf and AdSubtract
| (as you can tell, it does not work because I get ads all
| the time) as well as the XP Firewall enabled, so how am I
| getting spyware and adware on this computer? I admit that
| I am almost as green as new spring grass about computers
| but I installed all these anti's to prevent such
| infestation because of all the horror stories that I have
| heard.
|
| Please advise as soon as possible because I am afraid to
| do anything on the computer with these creatures lurking
| around the corner. Which sites do I need to go to? What
| anti's do I need to run? Obviously, I do not have the
| right type to still get infested.
|
| Thank you in advance to your response.
