One software firewall should be enough, I like ZA.
Update SpyBot and use the immunize feature to block about
500 known bad items.
If you have the Pro (paid) version of Ad-Aware you can also
block known web sites.
There is a list of cookies/sites that can be blocked, Spy
Sites
