Hard to say what the disparity is from without doing a network trace and
analyzing it to see where the traffic is going to but it is certainly
possible that it could be from something propogating from your computer.
There is normally a big difference between data sent vs data received, but
if data sent is increasing at a fast rate without you doing anything then I
would be concerned.
Regardless of whether you are actually infected or not, it is a good idea
to do the steps I noted previously of implementing a firewall, patching
your system will all of the latest patches and updating your virus
software. If your virus software is up to date and not detecting anything
and you are still getting strange behavior and think your system might be
comprimised then call the number below for further assistance, or wipe the
system and do a fresh install.
