As I have stated elsewhere, since a file can be renamed to anything, such as
MarthaStewart.pif, a file name can lead to false information. If you read the read of the
thread you will see I provided the Symantec link and the possible Trojan name based upon
that terse information provided.

The information I asked for is totally relevant. As I have stated before in this News
Group, every word the OP provides is a clue to the resolution of the OP's problem. If the
an AV package is used, the package name should be mentioned. If a virus is found that
virus name needs to be mentioned. Knowing this information will provide clues as to how
the AV package provided remediation and the next course of action.

Sandi - Microsoft MVP since 1999 (IE/OE)
David H. Lipman - AV eradication as a VAR and as an Fortune 50 outsourced contractor since
1989

If Sandi wants to help the OP then great but she should NOT tell me my query is
"irrelevant" when it is/was not.

If you read the URL Sandi points to, it is information overload and will NOT help the OP.

Dave :-)

| Searching Google and Symantec AV site provide results for openme.exe -- without
| knowing the actual name of the infector
|
| You find additional information and solutions based on information given. The
| particular AV software is not relevant because it only deleted the 1 file. The
| OP did not run any type of cleaner from Panda.
|
| Sandi's expertise or not is far from the issue raised here, her assistance in
| this forum and many others has been eloquant, correct and well received.
| Perhaps that is one of many reasons she is a MVP.
