EXPLOIT-MIME.gen.exe

I have tried everything I could think of to get rid of
this viruse.
I downloaded patches, any that looked like they would
apply, though i didn't see any with the exact Exploit-mime.
I think it was mimail or something like it.
I went to McAfee chat support. They gave me a fix to
clean virus from Command Prompt in DOS, I carefully
followed instruction but it went just half way and then
said it was an "Invalid Directory Message;
I am getting desperate for help. I can't even use my
email. It is infected and keeps downloading the same
messages. Has me jammed up so that I have trouble sending
and receiving.
Help!!
