Some people do it for the intellectual challenge, and some to open up
computers for use in denial of service attacks and as spam servers. Since
Sobig.F, I've seen a huge increase in spam relayed through PCs, whose owners
haven't a clue what's going on. The only way to get it under control is to
inform everyone that their PCs may be vulnerable, and what to do about it.
I just wish Microsoft would fund a TV advertising campaign to that end.
