That would be an interesting find indeed. I contacted Winternals and tried NTFSDOS in
conjunction with McAfee's command line scanner. I was hoping to boot off a floppy disk but
run the software off a ZIP disk. However, NTFSDOS' memory model was incompatible with the
McAfee command line scanner which is a DOS/Win32 utility.
I too would be interested in a solution.

| Thanks for the reply. I'm really looking for something that will work on
| 'unconnected' computers. Meaning no internet access. For example, a computer
| in a tech shop for repairs. If a machine is potentially infected with
| something I would like to keep it isolated from any network. I would like 2
| things, 1, scan from within windows without installing a software package
| (ie. just running an executable from a cd would do), and 2, in the case of a
| non-booting machine, scan BOTH NTFS and FAT partitions from a boot cd.
|
| know of anything?
