a friend of mine had this same issue. It was related to his son
downloading anything and everything that has ever popped up on his
machine. It ended up being tons and tons of Spyware. Utilizing Adaware
we found that it had over 635 hits to remove. :)
Try downloading adaware - www.lavasoftusa.com Install the product and
then UPDATE it. It doesn't necessarily come with the latest definition
file updated. I would also recommend Spybot S&D,

Same thing Download, Install and update.
It makes a good 1, 2 punch if one misses the other normally gets it.
Get a firewall. There are free ones on the web.
