I read that one......I understand their problem--and it is somewhat akin to
the threats (actions?) by some ad-ware vendors against removal tools and
newsgroup posters advocating removal by other than the vendors approved
method. You've got somebody who is in business (and business is king in
this country at the moment) and who has a demonstrated approval by the
"customer" (read: hapless victim) to install his software, and now DELL is
telling folks to go to the Spyware forum and learn how to rip it out by its
roots! I suspect this came from the legal department, and there's not much
to do about it except hope that the users get their advice from better
sources.

This is one excellent point in favor of the arms-length relationship between
Microsoft and both MVP's and these forums.

Is there a quick easy way to see the list of detections in a given rev of
ad-aware or spybot's defs? I know siljaline posts the new adds, but if I
see "idgsearch.com" and want to know if ad-aware covers it, presently I need
to read enough google hits to find somebody saying that it does (and I
suspect in this case it doesn't!)
