DO NOT use your real email address in newsgroups.
You are asking two different questions, hence the interpolated replies.
It is standard practice with paid AV programs to renew subscriptions at
least yearly. If you buy a retail version of NAV, you get the first year
subscription included. After that, you have to renew it. OEM versions
generally have a shorter initial subscription period.
You have a choice to buy a program every year, or renew your subscription.
The price works out about the same.
"Free" AV programs are available.

DO NOT use your 'real' email address in news articles. Your address is
probably already harvested by spammers.
If your ISP requires a functioning email address for posting, set up an
email account on some webmail system for catching spam. If your ISP doesn't
have that requirement, munge your 'real' address in some reasonable way.
