Set your antivirus to download updates every week or so. If no virus is
found, try a second scan from http://housecall.antivirus.com for a second
opinion.

Not sure if the file you mention is causing the popups, but it definitely
sounds like a virus. See here:

If after using antivirus to remove it, you still get the popups, then keep
looking, for example by using some of the steps below:
