When I went back, and, added the word compter, I got 160 hits. Using virus and
security got still smaller number of hits. Many of the previous hits were
biological or not related to computers. My point though is that there are many
nontrivial groups on Yahoo.
Every one of the 25 groups I belong to has some pretty tough moderators. I
subscribe to about 80 NG, and only once have I seen a moderator say anything
about posts. By moderator, I mean someone who exercised authority to stop a
posting. In fact, it was my post. We exchanged a few messages and he then
understood why I wanted it posted. He let it pass on as originally composed, and
I got the answer I expected.
I think being able to create a newsgroup is an excellent thing. I have one of my
own for our local science club. I refuse membership to anyone not in the
immediate community or club. If you wanted to create a Weldon YG for anyone with
your last name, you could easily do it. Some mfgers support the YG and actively
post messages on them to assist with posts.
