? about efficiency of AV program

Hi there: I use yahoo for all my email-I really dont get
any email from the email address that I got from my ISP-
MY questions is this: How does Anti-virus work as far as
email-If I install grisoft AV program (for example) is
there an option for me to scan any email (with or without
attatchments) before opening it?? At yahoo, there is an
option that I can use to scan with norton when there is
an attatchment. But sometimes that attatchment comes with
the main mail message on the same page. So it can do no
good that way. I had my email address added to my new
business cards and really need to know about scanning
with an AV before I open any emails;since I may be
getting emails from people I do not 'really' know.Any
advice on this. please.
