Tonight I installed Norton System Works 2004. Next I ran a
full scan on the system which came up clean.
Then I went to Microsoft's update web site and downloaded
all the current patches & updates for XP. During the
download, Norton jumped in and identified a
virus: "W32WELCHIA.WORM" and said that it affected the
file: "DLL HOST.EXE".
I have had the alert come up several times since. I am not
sure what the file "DLL HOST.EXE" does, but all
indications are that it is damaged and cannot be repaired.
Can I get a virus while downloading from MICROSOFT'S
website?
