I'm assuming you already have an antivirus program
installed on your computer and that's how you found out
you had the virus? Ad-aware does target some viruses and
trojans but it mainly targets other objects on your
computer such as dialers, BHO's, tracking cookies,
dataminers, etc. It's very important that you have the
latest version (6.181) and ref file (use "webupdate" by
clicking on the globe or "check for updates now") before
you scan with AAW.
