Tina,
What version of Windows do you have?
Have you tried installing a firewall? I recommend the
free version of ZoneAlarm Basic, available from ZoneLabs
at http://www.zonelabs.com
Once the firewall is installed, you should visit the
WindowsUpdate website and apply all critical updates.
This can be found through Internet Explorer, the Tools
menu, and then Windows Update.
You should also consider the possibility that it is
not a genuine blaster infection, but some kind of adware
or spyware generating a message to mimick the effects.
You should try using both AdAware and Spybot on your
computer, both of which are available for download free
from http://www.lavasoft.de and http://security.kolla.de
respectively.
Do you have antivirus running on your computer? You should
have some, and allow it to run in the background, scanning
each and every file as it is accessed. If you do not have
antivirus, you can get some free at http://www.grisoft.com
