It isn't giving out false signals.
Any attachment of the classes specified could be a dangerous one. Outlook
Express doesn't know--it is simply warning you of that fact. It's easy to
misinterpret this as full-blown antivirus checking but it isn't that.
If you can work out a better wording for the warning, or a better UI for the
mechanism, Microsoft is definitely interested in hearing your thoughts:
