A good antivirus program will identify the infection. If you don't have
one, you can go to http://www.symantec.com/securitycheck click on the 'Virus
Detection' button and get a free remote virus scan. If your system is
infected, you can download free repair tools. But you really ought to have
a good antivirus program installed and active all the time. With rapidly
developing new threats, you should update the virus definitons daily.
You should also install all the critical security patches and Service Packs
for Microsoft products. Didn't they tell you that?
