Changing your established email address is not a trivial
thing. There are many people with your old address that
you will not be able to contact or that you do not have
their email address to send them the address change info.
Also, you've got to fix all your Ebay, Paypal, items
listed for sale at various pages, etc. Not trivial
and not something an ISP should expect its patrons
to do at the drop of a hat.
Again, Earthlink support says, "It's not our problem,
just change your email address".
