Hello All,
Please excuse the technical question, but I have a
client that got infected with MSBlaster and I told him to
install the patch put out by Microsoft. He's running
Win2K Server with IIS 5.0. This server's sole purpose is
to play middleman between the Internet storefront
(ASP.net) and the AS/400 Inventory system, using XML as
the intermediate transfer medium. After installing the
patch on the server my client noticed he was
getting "Access Denied" returned from the MSXML40
objects. This process is encapsulated in an EXEcutable
written in VB 6.0 that is scheduled to run periodically
with Administrator rights to update the website's
inventory numbers. However (as if not confusing enough)
the process runs fine and without error when my client
logs in as the Administrator and physically runs the EXE
by double-clicking on it. I've checked all the
permissions on the source folders, and I've ensured that
the destination URL (using MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP40) is
still valid.
I cannot figure it out...any thoughts are welcome.
Please reply here and email me so I can have a hardcopy in
my inbox (company policy).
