On the advice of a forum post I went to
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.h
tml
and downloaded the Symantec W32.Welchia.Worm worm removal
program. It seems to have worked; my computer is no
longer sending continually.
Thanks to forum members and to Symantic.
