exporting a public key using the cryptoapi

What API do I use to export a public key using the CryptoAPI? I thought
that I could use
CryptSignAndEncodeCertificate, but that fails with error NTE_BAD_KEYSET. I
am able to export the certificate using the certificate export wizard; so
obviously that is doing something different. This is a self-signed
certificate created using makecert. The keyspec is AT_KEYEXCHANGE, which is
correct for this certificate.

thanks,

George.
