Hi Paul,
We normally focuses on the SDK security programming in this newsgroup.
Actually, we seldom rely on this old NT4 NTML trick solution. Since it is
just used for backward compatibility, I suspect there may be some change
in
the current protocol.
If you wanted to access the domain joined machine, I would recommend you
to
use the LAN session manager to establish the access channel. In code, you
may call NetUseAdd or WNetAddConnectionX. In script, you may invoke "net
use" command to establish the LAN session. In explorer UI, you may type
the
username/password in the pop dialog; explorer process will establish the
LAN session underlying.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Jeffrey Tan

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
