Hi Jeffrey,
I am in big trouble.
I created service and application. service can acceess named pipe created by
application. BUT application can not access named pipe created by service.
what can i do now? I need to send data from application to service and get
data back. I created named pipe in service. but application can not access
it. work fine with XP though.
I know it probably a very common question but i need urgent solution.
thanks

Hi Ashnah,.
Thank you for the feedback.
Based on my experience, NetBios socket query is not restricted by Windows
security model. It should not have much problem while running in service
once the socket port is not blocked by firewall on Vista. If you want to
understand best practice of Vista service security programming, the 2
articles below are the most recommended ones:
"Services Hardening in Windows Vista"

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/vista/Vista_Services.mspx
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Jeffrey Tan
