    Basically for custom authentication, you will need to create (or modify)
    custom web pages that act as web front for the external users.

    Another approach would be to have the request contain user's information and
    then you develop a custom Policy Module on the CA to retrieve the
    information from request and validate the information. However, this will
    cause this private information to be stored in CA's database, which the
    users may not be comfortable with.
