I have never seen any problems with PC/SC on win2000 so I don't know which
problems address patch for win2000.
I have seen following problems on winXP: When you try to use SC you get
message: "The Smart card resource manager is not running! ", but in service
manager looks like Smart card service is running and reader is installed
correctly.
See post in this newsgroup from 23rd February with subject : An application
works in Windows 2000, not works in Windows XP.
Also search web archive of SmartCardSDK mailing list
(http://discuss.microsoft.com/SCRIPTS/WA-MSD.EXE?S1=SmartCardSDK&X=-) for
SCARD_E_NO_SERVICE.
I guess here are described most of the problems this patch address.
