6 is ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE.
That doesn't help to much to pinpoint the error.
Do you know which API is returning this error? Is it SCardConnect?

The MSDN documentation for PC/SC do not describe the error
code 0x00000006.
The card is a T0 pki card.
