On Windows XP, when I want to connect to an available
wireless network, a "Wireless Network Connection" dialog
box is displayed that lets me select the network from a
list. I always have to select the Advanced button on this
dialog box so that I can configure the connection to use
the desired EAP type.
Is there a way I can configure 802.1x default settings so
that I don't have to configure the EAP type every time I
add a new connection? Does RAS look at any registry
values to get the default EAP-Type?
I've read that if I'm part of a Windows Server 2003 Active
Directory Domain that I can define a Group Policy
Extension for Wireless Network Policies; it sounds like
this might allow me to specify a default EAP-Type for new
connections, but I'm not using active directory. Is there
any way I could define a local computer policy that would
specify the default EAP-Type to use when wireless
connections are added?
Thanks,
Don
