RE: Migration to new hardware

Okay - feel really dumb, but I figured out the asp (server extension
configuration is IIS manager).

But, can anyone give me a heads up on the Intranet website inability to log
in?

I'm migrating to new hardware (Server 2003, IIS6, SQL2005) from old hardware
running exact same software. Migrated a few sqldatabases. Set host file to
point websites to same box to test. I've set all websites to .net 2.
Posted one website (.net 2) using Visual Studio just to test and everything
worked beautifully. Subdirectories, sql calls, etc. Made text change on
local only to be sure it was pulling from local box through host file and not
dns.

But, I have other webs on the box (using host headheaders). They aren't
working.

One is an intranet site that uses .net to pull from active directory for
authentication with groups. Keeps trying to have me login through the
windows login rather than the webpage login. I've checked permissions,
parent directories enabled, security, and everything is the same as the old
box.

Another is just a plain website that's still in asp (not .net). On this one
I've also check permissions, parent directories enabled, security, etc. This
one won't display any page EXCEPT the home page .htm (none of the .asp).

I thought that since all were default .net that I didn't have to worry about
application settings and could use the default. Could that be it? Must I
have sharepoint installed if I'm using same version of .net? That doesn't
seem to make sense since on the old box the first website mentioned (.net 2)
and the third plain asp are both running in same application pool.

Anybody help out? Much appreciated.
