    Hi George,

    Welcome to Microsoft newsgroup!

    >From your description, it seems the local access to the web server is good.
So I think there is no problem in IIS.

    >"I can't browse to it or ping it from another location ¡I've tried both
name and IP address with no luck"
If there is no firewall on the server, I think maybe the problem caused by
network. I suggest you use the "tracert" command with server IP or name to
trace the network, you will find where the error occurred.

Additionally, I appreciate Mike's suggestion and also wonder is there other
computers can access the web server?

I hope the suggestions were helpful. If you have any other concerns, please
feel free to let me know. It's my pleasure to be of assistance.
