orantcp9.dll generating fault
I am using a 91 client to query on a Oracle Db 9.2.0.6 from an ASP page, via
ADODB connection.
Microsoft environment hosting my web application is OS win2003/IIS 6.0
Sometimes IIS often hung or simply loses current session, so user need to
login again: in this case, the dump contains the phrase:
"orantcp9.dll from Oracle Corporation has caused an access violation
exception (0xC0000005) when trying to read from memory location 0x00000000 on
thread .."
Event viewer on Microsoft OS gives following message:
------
Source: W3SVC
Event ID: 1009
A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' terminated unexpectedly.
The process id was '2476'. The process exit code was '0xc0000005'.

Hi,
Pleaes note that MSDAORA (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle) is a
microsoft product.
You can also upgrade Oracle Client to 9.2.0.6.0 which can be downloaded as
part of patch 3948480.

Correct, MSDAORA is a microsoft product, but Oracle client is Oracle.
I indeed queried Microsoft support team:
They gave us reference to Oracle bug 2994441.
Following their suggestions our Oracle DBA has upgraded Oracle Names to from
8.1.6.x.x to 9.2.x.x.x and until now everything seems to work.

Hi,
Do you mean that after upgrading Oracle Names to 9.2, it works fine?
Because Bug 2994441 has not been fixed as Oracle Names 8.1.6 has become
obsolete.
