I am not sure why urlredirection for exchange 2003 on iis 6.0 seems
different that iis 5.0 and exchange 2000.

Before in windows 2000 and iis 5, under the root (default web site) in iis
manager, i would go to home directory and select "A redirection to a URL"

under redirect to i would type in https://frontendserver.domain.com/exchange

under the client will be sent to: I type in "A directory below URL entered"

Then all requests to http://myfrontendserver.domain.com would be redirecte
and since I am using basic auth with ssl, user will log in to owa fine.

But in iis6, it does not work that way. It says i must type in https and i
get 403.4 error. I followed the Ms doc

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;839357

But that does not seem to work either especially since i am redirecting to
    /exchange

So I fiddled around and eventually did this

Enabled anoymous authentication athe the root (default web site), unchecked
enable SSL, under home directory kept my settings for redirection to a url.

Then under exchange virtual directory I enabled ssl. and made sure only
basic auth was the only thing selected.

This seems to work now. But i am not sure I am approaching this the right
way or this is an insecure way to make this working onanks iis 6.0

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks
