For a renewal of SSL certificates ,enrollment with an IIS 5 or 6 server
instead of generating a new CSR could i use the same old CSR. If so i will
be having the same key pair and key identifier for the renewed
certificate. And also how far it is secure to use the same CSR.
The only problem for enrolling the IIS server for CSR will create a new key
pair and KeyIdentifier that will Stop not only the server(during
installation...) but the configuration settings for the certificate will be
changed again.
When i asked verisign about the use of old CSR ,they said i would not be
able to use an old or same CSR file if you are working with an IIS 5.0 or IIS
6.0 server.
These versions of the server require that a CSR be generated first and that
exact same CSR must be submitted to Verisign during the enrollment.
Do you have any option in IIS to set to use the same CSR ...
