I'm having trouble getting https working on my IIS 6 server. I installed a
certificate with no trouble. In the IIS Manager I brought up the Properties
for the virtual site that I want to enable SSL for, went to the Web Site
tab, put in 443 as the SSL port. Netstat -a shows something is listening on
that port. When (from the same or another computer) I point my browser to
it, I get a Security Alert (which I expected because the certificate has a
different name than the site), proving to me that the connection is made,
but when I click "Yes (I do want to proceed)" I get a "Cannot find server or
DNS Error" error page. If I use http instead of https it works fine.
What else should I be looking for?
There is no firewall between me and this server.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
