What does KB886903 Affect?

We have installed the .NET Framework update (KB886903). We are currently
running VS.NET and had some problems with compiling projects. We found out
that it was due to the IIS directory string in the IIS configuration under
Home Directory. For example, it should be C:\inetpub\wwwroot instead of
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ on XP machines.

Now we would like to know what other known impacts are there associated with
this patch release. We were unable find a fix to these problems without
great ease. We would like to find out how security has been hardened in this
specific patch release, and what changes were made.
