Certificate Services setup dies without a trace

hi,
i´m facing troubles installing the certsrv on my sbs2000. i can initiate the
Certificate Services setup and then the setup dies without a trace - no
prompt, no log nothing. going back to where i came from. i can even reselct
the installation of Certificate Services.
has anyone got an idea how to fix this? OWA without https: isn´t really what
i'd like to do
