Mike,

Try these KB articles :

HOW TO: Determine If SSL Connectivity Is Not Working on the Web Server
or on an Intermediate Device
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290051

Page Cannot Be Displayed When You Connect Through SSL
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=260096

"Cannot find server" or "DNS" Errors When Using SSL (Q & A)
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=292296

I'd also consider getting your server up to date with its patches if
you're still on SP3. Use the MBSA to determine which patches if any
you are missing :

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/tools/mbsahome.mspx
